SSRS 2005 Navigation settings repeated across a line
I often need to create a drilldown detail report and I link to that using the navigation option. If I have to specify lots of parameters and then do an IIF so it doesn't try to navigate if there are no details for the selection, it can take quite a while to add navigation to all the columns on a line. What would be great if there was a way to specify them once and then repeat them for all the other columns on the line as the same navigation details apply. Is that possible? I did think I probably could just edit the XML and cut and paste the requisite bits but maybe there's a neater way built in?Nick Ryan SQL Server Developer OnePath (NZ) Lts

Hi Nick Ryan, According to your description, you would like to repeat Navigation settings in reporting services, I am afraid it is a limitation in product, if you have any concern about this, please submit a feedback at http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope Microsoft improve this feature in the next service pack or product release. Thanks for your understanding. Eileen

Thanks for the reply, Eileen. I found that just editing the XML directly and cutting and pasting the block of code that controlled the navigation was reasonably quick and easy so that's a good work-around. I will post a request to have that improved, too.Nick Ryan SQL Server Developer OnePath (NZ) Lts
