SSRS 2005 - PDF embeds fonts in Report Manager but not when generated for subscriptions
Title says it all. We've got pdf font embedding working great when exporting as a pdf in Report Manager. When you deliver the same report on a subscription, either via email or network share, the fonts are not embedded. Is assumed it would be exactly that same process rendering the pdf files either way but obviously not. Any ideas how to enable font embedding on delivered reports? Thanks.

Hi aphillippe, Thanks for your question. Based on my research and past experiences, this issue may be caused by the recipient’s computer hadn’t installed the same font with the Reporting Services server. Normally, to be able to use a font when rendering the report, you must have the font installed locally on every computer, please ensure that the font has indeed been installed to the recipients’ computers. A reference, which you may want to forward to the administrators is: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314960 Hope it helps you. If your issue still exists, please feel free to let me know. Thanks for the reply but maybe I didn't explain properly. When the report is opened in Report Manager (in Internet Explorer) and exported as pdf, SSRS renders the pdf with the correct custom fonts embedded. There is no need to have the fonts installed on the local machine as they are included in the pdf file itself. I have also set up a subscription to the same report, on the same server, to deliver a pdf. This pdf document arrives with SSRS having substituted the custom fonts (the same fonts that are embedded above) for helvetica. Even if you have the fonts installed locally, SSRS has substituted the fonts out anyway. So the question remains, how can font embedding be enabled on delivered reports?
