SSRS 2005
Hi I have two dropdown controls. Initially i want to display one dropdown control. If i select one value in the dropdown control, the another dropdown control will display the value based up on the value selected in the first dropdown control. Whether it is possible in SSRS 2005 or not. Thanks Belfin

Hi, I am not sure you can hide them but you can base the second one on the first – and it will be inactive until drop down one is used. You should also set the second one to have a default value of null. So, Drop down one has a list of departments. You select a department and now drop down 2 becomes active and lists staff from that department. To do this you need to add the department parameter to the staff dataset. Seth SELEC Cols From staff WHERE department = @department In your main data set you may want to ignore the staff value if null is selected – you would need to do this in the where clause. WHERE department = @department AND staff = IsNull(@staff, staff) http://lqqsql.wordpress.com

Hi I am having a problem with cascading parameters. The 1st time I make a selection the dependent parameters update correctly. If I select a new value from the 1st parameter, the 2nd parameter updates as expected. Then I select another value from the 1st parameter the 2nd parameters updates as expected. But the values are not refreshed. The parameter values are still based on the selection from the 1st time. In this, in the Report parameter for the second parameter I set the default value as "From Query". Thanks Belfin
