SSRS - Resetting a subscription after a subscription run failure
It seems to me that if a scheduled SSRS report subscription fails ( Status Message - An error has occurred during report processing) , that I actually need to delete the subscription and reconfigure it from scratch. The scheduled job doesn't try to run again automatically (say the next Monday on a weekly Monday schedule). Is there a way to "reset" a failed subscription without have to recreate the entire subscription? Thank you Devon Kyle

You have two solutions. One is to add the subscription to a shared scedule and then you can call the scheduleID or just start the SQL Agent job. The second solution is to edit properties in Rreport Manager on the report and execute snapshot with the checkbox selected to create now. This will kick off you subscription as well.

Are you saying that you have a subscription that is scheduled to run every monday of the week. The subscription failed with error "An error has occured during report processing" one monday and after that the subscription does not execute anymore?? If above is your scenario, the subscription should automatically fire next monday as per the schedule even though it failed in the previous attempt.

Thanks fsugeiger- I will try both of your suggestions. Those are two ideas that didn't even remotely occur to me. DK

Ahh - that is exactly what I thought should happen. But I've seen this issue dozens of times, where a subscription failed (due to a changed permission issue, improper connection string/ Data Source etc). and not ONCE has it refired for the next scheduled period. I've always had to delete the subscriptions assigned and set them up again. Very annoyting when I have 20-30 people scheduled for the same report.
