I am trying to use a wildcard in a Filter condition within a SSRS - Report Builder report. Are wildcards of anytime in fact allowed in this tool? I get errors when I try to use SQL-like wildcards such as '%'. I've also been unable to find any mention of "wildcards" in HELP. Please help as soon as possible. THANKS!

The report builder is for businerss users where the users may not have the SQL knowledge. Instead set the filter using "Contains". Contains is equivalent to %BLAH%. Not sure how one can achieve "%Blah" or "Blah%" using filters.

Thank you for your reply. I am already aware of the "Contains" operator and how it is equivalent to %BLAH%. It is the "%Blah" or "Blah%"select that I need to be able to do. Does anyone knowhow to accomplish this?

In the report builder, all the wild cards will be treated as regular characters. So your solution doesn't help.MSFT Team, why isn't there a "Starts With" or "Ends with" filter? Is there any alternative??
