SSRS - How to copy reports from a folder to a different folder
I have multiple reports that are in a folder and I need to be able to copy those reports to other folders. I've looked at scripting and I need a better way to do other than typing it in for each report and each folder. I don't understand why you would have a move option and not a copy option. I'm very new to all of this so I'm kind of lost any help would be appreciated.

You have to deploy to the new folder from the visual studio.

Hi, Was bored so I thought I'd peruse the forum. Someone helped me with some useless information today, so perhaps this will help. Are you trying to copy a report in total or just deploy it to a different folder as well?, Is it in the same Project? Or are you trying to move it across reporting projects? Do you have access to the BI Visual Studio, or just from Report Manager? In a Visual Studio reports project you can Ctrl+C a report and then Ctrl+V, and you can duplicate a report. You can also go into the project properties and change the folder deployment name, and so start deploying reports by amending this value and deploy to multiple locations. You could of course also go to the reports physical location in the developers folder and copy and move it that way as well. Please specify more details in regards to what you have access to and what you don't :)

you can write query in reportserver db using catalog table. declare @newfolder varchar(max) = 'Report Project6' declare @parentid nvarchar(max) declare @reportpath varchar(max) = '/Report Project7/Report1' select @parentid = itemid from catalog where name = @newfolder insert Catalog select newid(), '/' + @newfolder + '/Report1', name, @parentid,TYPE, content, intermediate, snapshotdataid, linksourceid, property, description, hidden, createdbyid, GETDATE(), modifiedbyid, getdate(), mimetype, snapshotlimit, parameter, policyid, policyroot, executionflag, executiontime, subtype, ComponentID from Catalog where path = @reportpath
