SSRS: How to remove the extra rows when exporting the drill down report to excel?

Hi All,

I have a drill down report which need to be exported to excel. But, when exporting to excel it shows many unwanted blank rows for a particular record due to the drill down option. Is it possible to remove it?

I need to exclude the rows in yellow color when exporting to excel. Is it possible?

Regards,

Julie

Hi Julie,

According to your description, you have created drill down actions in the report, when you export the report to Excel, it displays blank rows, right?

As we tested in our environment, we havent reproduced the Excel render results like yours when we add drill down actions in the report. In your scenario, we would like to know if blank rows only display in excel render instead of preview results. Would you please share sample data and some screenshots about report design? So that we could try to reduce the issue then check if its possible to remove those blank rows.

Hi Qiuyun,

Yes,It shows blank rows only when I export to excel. It is not showing any blank rows when we preview it. Please see the below image of design.

then I have selected group properties and given visibility hide and toggle field. For ex, I have chosen group ManagerId-->properties-->visibility-->Hide-->Display can be toggled by Manager.

Please see the output in the preview tab.

There is no extra rows. But It will have blank rows when we export the same to excel.

Thanks,

Julie
