SSRS2008 with SSL and wildcard certificate
Hi, We bought a wildcard certificate that is used with multiple servers. I was not able to setup SSL on the report server through the RS Configuration Manager when I select the certificate with the correct URL reservation. I'm always getting this error (certificate binding error) : Microsoft.ReportingServices. ReportingServices.WmiProvider.RSWmiAdmin.ThrowOnError(ManagementBaseObject mo) à Microsoft.ReportingServices.WmiProvider.RSWmiAdmin.CreateSSLCertificateBinding(String application, String certificateHash, String ipAddress, Int32 port) à ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.RSReportServerAdmin.CreateSSLCertificateBinding(UrlApplication app, String certificateHash, String ipAddress, Int32 port) My question is quite simple : Is there a clean MS way to setup SSRS2008 with SSL and a widcard certificate ? Thanks. FMahieux

Hi, If you use a certificate, you must modify the UrlRoot configuration setting in the RSReportServer.config file so that it specifies the fully qualified name of the computer for which the certificate is registered. For more information, see Configuring a Report Server for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Connections in SQL Server Books Online.
