SSRS, high availability on Standard edition cluster
I know this isn't supported out of the box for Standard edition, but my customer isn't about to pay for Enterprise plus 2 new servers for a proper scale-out deployment, so....
We have a 2 node, single instance cluster with reporting services installed on each node (during initial install on Node A, after the fact on Node B). This of course results in RS having 2 instance names, one for each node. When we get
a failover, the customer has to adjust his application to point to the RS instance on Node B. I have no idea how that is all set up.
Looking for any way that will reliably allow the application to continue to serve up reports to the web users after the failover is complete and the DB is back online. Found this article but don't have proper lab to test with:
