SSP Timer Job Distribution List import was not run; error
I keep getting this error message in the event viewer of my server. I've tried everything I've read and no luck in resolving it. Can anyone help me out on this? I changed the ID and PWD on the Sharepoint timer service and no luck. I can actually start and stop that service with no problems. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Hello- There is another thread that you might be interested in. http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1469046&SiteID=17 These are my guesses on this topic...My assumptions... If someone can elaborate on this topic, I would be interested in your responses. There are various forms of this error: bad username/password, index out of bounds, and I think I heard of another. There are two possible causes of this error(s): you changed the service account password, or you used psconfig or stsadm to setup SSP. If you changed the password, sharepoint hasstored the password and there is a confilct. -- try this http://blogs.msdn.com/joelo/archive/2006/08/22/712945.aspx If you used psconfig to setup sharepoint, the "process accounts with access to this SSP" is not populated. You might get this error: The SSP Timer Job Distribution List Import Job was not run. Reason: Index was outside the bounds of the array. Technical Support Details:System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array. at Microsoft.Office.Server.Utilities.WindowsSecurity.GetUserTokenFromCredentials(String userDomainName, String password, LogonType logonType) at Microsoft.Office.Server.Utilities.WindowsSecurity.GetUserTokenFromCredentials(String userDomainName, String password) at Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.JobHandler.Execute(Object state, Boolean timedOut) For more information, see Help and Support Center at -- If so, try this: go to Central Admin, App MGMT, Manage this farms SS, right click SSP and click edit. Enter your service account name in "with process accounts with access to this SSP". Check event viewer to see if the exceptions cease.

Thank you for this! I think this not only fixed the error in the event logs, I think it also fixed a problem we had where a profile import did not make new AD groups available to audiences...
