SSMS will not connect to Reporting Services
The sql server configuration manager shows that my SQL Server Reporting Services is Running
When I try connecting to Reporting Services instance using SSMS I get an error "The reporting services instance could not be found. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient)
IIS is running and i browse to localhost/reporting but I also get an error that no page exists here

Hi BradleyRochester,
I am not very sure which version of SQL server that you are running. I just noticed that you are tring to browse URL: localhost/reporting. Actually, the manager URL should be
http://<ServerName>/ReportServer. Please try to connect to the URL from SSMS.
Thanks,
Eileen

It sounds like the reporting services service doesnt have permissions to all the folders it needs. In the SSRS config. manager, set the web and windows service identities.Francis, MCTS: BI 2008, MCITP: BI 2008 Stay Thirsty My Friends

Also verify if your SSRS is installed as default or named instance and if appropriate ports are open on you server's firewall (for default instance, port 1433, for named - you should configure it to use static port, if firewall is enabled).
