SSIS inaccessible
Has anyone seen this error related to SSIS? I get this everytime I try to perform any action on (import, export, or run) a file system package. I am racking my brain and I would prefer not to perform a full reinstall, but I am not seeing any posts that have helped with this error. Unable to cast object of type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.ObjectExplorerUI.ImportPackageAsAction' to type 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.ObjectExplorerUI.ISimpleAction'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.DtsObjectExplorerUI)

I tried running regsvr32 msxml3.dll and regsvr32 msxml6.dll with no change in accessibility. I also looked at the hotfix solution, but I am on version 9.0.3159 so hotfix 2153 doesn't apply. So you have any other ideas? Never mind, It magically works this morning. I love when things fix themselves.

I am getting a similar error when I try to do anything under Legacy->DTS "unable to cast object of type Microsoft.sqlserver.dts.ObjectExplorerUI.Openlegacypackageaction to type Microsoft.sqlserver.dts.ObjectExplorerUI.ISimpleAction" I have recently configured Oracle connection through Oracle OLE DB provider and since this was a 64 bit version, it was quite a challenge to get this working. I can access it though Linked Server and also through SSIS, but when I try to open a dts package to set up a connection to Oracle, i get the above error. This happens when I click on anything under DTS. I do have the SQL 2000 DTS designer component installed. Does someone know what could be wrong? Thanks!

Unfortunately for me, I've tried the fixes proposed here (and every other possible fix I've found on the net) and it didn't "magically work" for me. Anyone have any additional ideas? I have the SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio installed (I can create new SSIS's) but when I try to open any legacy DTS from the SQL Server Management Studio I get the error documented above. I am NOT working directly on the SQL Server machine...I am connecting to it from my development workstation which is Windows 7. Thanks for any help. John
