SSIS extract data from Windows Application Log - how?
Hi
Does anyone know how to extract data from Windows 2008 R2 Application Log please?
I've looked at all sorts of connections and nothing looks like it will work.
I managed ot get Log Parser2.2 working, but its a bit clunky and I'd like to be able to extract application log data and drop it directly into a SQL database for analysis.
Any thoughts welcome. As I'm not a programmer, you may have to keep any instructions straight forward.
Thanks in advance,
SG

Hello SG,
WMI Data Reader is the component to use in this case. See this post to start off:

MSDN has some sample queries: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141744.aspxArthur My Blog
