SSIS UI question about Available Output Columns in script task
For some reason I have columns in "Available Output Columns". How did these get there? I did not explicitly add them. I recognize they are in the first table added to the script task output but I could not find any additional properties in the UI or XML Code to earmark this table/coloumns for output. 28 other tables exist, but those tables' columns do not exist. This is how to navigate to that dialog box: Data Flow -> Script Task -> Advanced Editor -> Column Mappings -> Available Output Columns Thanks for any explanation! -r

Correct me if I am wrong but the columns will show up in Output columns of Script component only if you add them manually. Abhiyanta

I just tried adding a table and columns usnig the UI (rather than pasting XML code) and the Available Output Columns (AOC) did not reflect this change. If a column is added to the 'first' table, then the column appears in the AOC.

Hi Rogge, The Script component can be used as a source, a transformation, or a destination. This component supports one input and multiple outputs. Depending on how the component is used, it supports either an input or outputs or both. The script is invoked by every row in the input or output. 1. If used as a source, the Script component supports multiple outputs. 2. If used as a transformation, the Script component supports one input and multiple outputs. 3. If used as a destination, the Script component supports one input. For more information about it, please see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms137640(v=sql.105).aspx Thanks, EileenPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
