SSIS Flat File Source Objecy Missing !!!!!!!!!!
Please check this: Right Click in your toolbox and choose Choose Items. Goto the tab SSIS Data Flow Items and see if Flat File Destination/Source is selected. Or maybe this will help: Right click in the toolbox and choose Reset Toolbox. Please mark the post as answered if it answers your question | My SSIS Blog: http://microsoft-ssis.blogspot.com

Hi, This is totally bizzard. I have been working on a flat file source loading package. so I have building the package back and forth for a while now since there seems to be some code page issues. I had to create/delete/recreate the connection, drag in the Flat File Source object more than once etc. Now somehow this time around, I found the Flat File source object in data flow source missing. I am stuck here and cannot do anything. What could have happend? can you help?Sincerely Thank You !

Fist rule in IT is to always back up. Well, since the underlying storage for the SSIS package is a XML file, it could be that the repeated re-creations have caused some sort of corruption. I simply would start with a new package - you can always copy and paste the "old" package elements (tasks, etc.) into the new package. On this note: I would check if you are not missing any SPs or other related patches/upgrades of some sort.Arthur My Blog

Sorry, just realized that I did not make myself explained. What is missing is in the Tool Box -> Data Flow Source category -> Flat File Source Vs. in Tool Box->Data flow Destinations category ->flat File Destination is there as it is supposed to be. I am wondering what is wrong with VS application. Sincerely Thank You !
