SSIS Excel conection Manager Error. Does it require MS Excel Installation?
I have one basic Question in SSIS Excel Connection Manager. I am using MS Excel 2007 as a source in my SSIS 2008 packages. It is workig fine. But when I deploy this into production i am getting some conection error(Excel not installed now). Do we need to Install Excel in Production Server? Or Is there any work around? I don't think you need to install excel software on production server. There is no 64-bit driver for Excel. You need to run the 32-bit version of DTEXEC (located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn).http://uk.linkedin.com/in/ramjaddu

Please read Interacting with Office. The short version: there is a 64-bit option, you don't need to install office, but you do need to install a driver. Talk to me now on

Thanks Todd and RamJaddu :) I installed only the MS offices driver and Execute the job in 32 Bit DTEXEC . Now it works fine. How to run the 32 Bit SSIS package in 64 Bit Environment? Please clike and refer the screenshots http://sqlblog.com/blogs/john_paul_cook/archive/2010/03/24/running-32-bit-ssis-in-a-64-bit-environment.aspx Thanks, Liyasker Samraj K
