Might be a firewall issue: See here: http://blog.kudosvenue.com/2010/04/19/connect-to-ssis-service-the-rpc-server-is-unavailable/Chuck

Thanks so much. I am trying to follow the steps in the link. But I couldn't see 100 and MSdtssrvr.exe in my installation folder Open the Windows Firewall from the Control Panel menu. Click on the Exceptions tab. Click the Add Program button. And browse to the folder where the SQL Server instance installation folders. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn\MsDtsSrvr.exe is the default installation folder. Please help. Thank you

What version of SQL Server are you running? You may have C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90 or C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100 First step would be to just turn off the firewall and test the package. If it works then you know to proceed with the firewall config Chuck

It is SQL Server 2005. I could locate 90...But I couldn't find msDTSsrvr.exe. It was turned off before. I didn't start that.

If the firewall is turned off then the issue is not the configuration of the firewall.Chuck

If the service fails to start, please see if this KB article applies to your configuration: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918644 Arthur My Blog
