SSIS 2008 problem since installing ODAC 11.2
I have a 64 bit server Windows 2008 Server running SSRS 2008 (NOT R2) It has 10.2 Oracle Client, 32 and 64 bit installed A co-worker (more senior) decided to add his web site to the server, and required the Oracle 11.2 client, so he installed ODAC 11.2. Now I'm having all sorts of trouble - I started getting TNS connection errors, which I solved by copying the tnsnames.ora to the network\admin directories My SSIS package now doesnt run: it keeps forgetting the saved passwords it changed many of settings for the advanced editor regarding the types of field. DT_WSTR items now show as DT_STRING. And when I set them back to DT_WSTR, it tells me that the types of the Error output fields dont match the input. When I try to set the error output columns back to DT_WSTR, it tells me that is an invalid setting for the property it is also giving me an error regarding the code page info, telling me that I need to set a property on the data task to always use default codepage. This ETL ran twice daily until the new client was installed. Any ideas? Rick

Hi Ric, The new TNS somehow looks like taken over the old settings. You may want to have multiple Oracle Homes, and set the package to pick the correct one.Arthur My Blog

It depends how you configured the package, in some cases nothing is needed. Try setting multiple homes 1st of all.Arthur My Blog
