SSIS 2008 Freezes often
Has it recently started or it has been like that from the inception? In either case here is what I would do: I would use Process Explorer and filter the entries to DevEnv. This tool must be able to point you out to the culprit. Here is an overview of how it works: http://johnsonyip.com/wordpress/2010/08/08/sysinternals-process-explorer-see-what-is-running-in-windows-behind-the-desktop/ And some more for you: http://searchenterprisedesktop.techtarget.com/tip/0,289483,sid192_gci1515815,00.htmlArthur My Blog

Hello, I have started using SSIS 2008 and I've noticed that when I am working on an SSIS Package, visual studio freezes often and sometime I have to close the project and restart/open the project. However, that doesn't happen with any of SSIS packages in a 2005 enivornment. Is that a common problem with SSIS 2008 or Visual Studio 2008? Thanks Kajoo

I keep havin the same problem it keeps freezing, right now I have time to write this because my packege has been frozeen for 15 minuts. I am running Win 7 64 bit, Visual Studio 2008 SQL Server 2008 R2 64 bit. My project was working well untill I added a OLE Connection to an EXCEL file. Could this be my problem?

When I experience or hear of such issues I first verify if I am not missing any SPs, patches or KBs. So please let us know if Windows Update finds something that is slowness resolution related.Arthur My Blog

Ok, I think I found the problem, I had a OLE Conection to a Excel File with an ole source to read from the file. For me I remove this the ole source and magic happen no more freezing. I neede to read data from this excel file, so I just converted to a csv and use a flat file connection.
