1) You need to provide FTP Servername 2) Default port is 21 and it should be open at both client and server 3) FTP task support either anonymous or basic authentication. You have to try for the ftp server connection username, password.Venkataraman R

1) In my case where the sql server 2008 will using ssis tool(FTP task) to push the zipped text file to the remote pc. Then do I must setup another server called as FTP server. Or I need to setup the sql server 2008 also act as FTP server? FYI ALL FTP is using LAN only. 2) Do I also need to open the default data port 20 on both client and server? As I understand that a normal FTP will need both default command port 21 and data port 21. Thanks a lot for your kind assistant.

do you want to transfer the zipped file to another location at the local network? I mean you have access to destination server through network? if yes, you can copy file simply with File System Task, but if you want to reach to destination server through internet, you probably have a FTP address, ftp account, you should enter them all in the ftp connection manager in SSIS. http://www.rad.pasfu.com
