SQL agent job is not generating alert.
Hi All, By default SQL Agent job monitor willl be disabled in SCOM R2. We have received request to enable the SQl agent job monitor. as per the request we have enabled the SQL agent job moniotor for all SQL server by applying override . Now All the SQL agent jobs are getting monitored by SCOM but its not generating the alert. So we have applied override to enable the alert. monitor summary shows overrided applied but still its not generating the alert. Please help me how to fix this issue.

Hi, So you have created an override to make it enabled and you see the jobs now. So they are monitored in health state. If you go into the overrides again and override it for the same you will get a list of possible overrides. Check the one for : Generates alert". If it is set to False you can enable that one as well by setting it to True. That will generate the alerts for you.Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My BICTT Blog)

You can troubleshoot this by selecting a health service where SQL is running and check the running and failed rules (this is a task in the operations console). This way you can ensure the rules are active (or not) and troubleshoot further from that point.Regards, Marc Klaver http://jama00.wordpress.com/

Hi. As Nicholas alludes to above, you have to enable discovery of the sql agent jobs, otherwise the monitors aren't targeted at any valid instances.Layne, 2011 Microsoft Community Contributor Recipient
