SQL Server Security Mode

In the pre-reqs for installing SCCM I get the following warning: The SQL Server name specified is configured for SQL authentication security. It is recommended to configure the SQL Server to operate only in Windows authentication security before you continue Configuration Manager Setup.

I changed my SQL server to use windows authentication and restarted the DB and services. The warning is still showing up in the pre-req check. What else should I check?

Did you change it for all your SQL instances? SQL, SSRS, WSUS (SQL) if separate?

By default SQL authentication security is not enabled so it means that someone has enabled it. It really doesn't matter that it is enabled.. it is just a warning message and most DBA like SQL authentication security enabled, even if it does mean creating a security hole on the SQL server.

Hi Garth, I'm a newbie to SQL so please bear with me. I changed to windows authentication by opening server management studio and going to server properties and then under the security tab I selected windows authentication mode. If there are more instances where would I find them?
I didn't create, but one instance so I'm not sure.

For simplicity, I would ignore the warning message.

That is not the answer I'm looking for. Anyone else have some insight?

Cleared the abusive flag, because the reply was not abusive.

Who setup SQL?  That setting is NOT a default setting, someone had to enabled it.

Have you reviewed the logs to see exactly what instance it looking at?
