SQL Questions
I have two questions regarding SQL for SCCM. First, does SCCM have any issues if my SQL db is being mirrored? Second, Can the site system backup be configured to only write the site backup and not the SQL backup? Thanks

#1: Only active/passive is supported: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693612.aspx. #2: no. And that would not make sense at all. You will only be able to restore ConfigMgr if you've got a full ConfigMgr backup.

You MUST have the SQL backup from SCCM to restore SCCM. You can not restore from a normal SQL backup (or any other type for that matter) John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |

John, Can you point me to the document that says that? In the past, I have done a site restore from a regular SQL backup and site backup. Then again, that was back in SMS 2003. Thanks

As per docs: Only site backups created using the Backup ConfigMgr Site Server maintenance task are supported for recovering sites using the Configuration Manager 2007 Site Repair Wizard. For more information about the Site Repair Wizard, see About the Site Repair Wizard. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/library/bb694133.aspx http://www.enhansoft.com/
