SQL Express 2014 - Analysis Services

I am in the process of taking several classes through MVA to learn SQL. I downloaded SQL Server Express and have been able to work with SQL databases and queries. I have also downloaded Data Tools (Basic & Complete show installed) (SSDT) and Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Shell (Integrated). When trying to access SSAS through SQL Server Management Studio it tells me that (A connection cannot be made. Ensure that the server is running. (Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient) (No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:2383 (System)).

While walking through the MVA course on implementing data models & reports, I can make through the set up, but when I try to browse my results I get the same error of no connect.

I am unable to get SSAS to show up in the 2014 configuration manager and I have not been able to set up a tabular instance. I reviewed numerous posts, and unfortunately I can not proceed until I resolved. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hello,

SSAS = Analysis Services is not a Feature of the Express Edition; see Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server 2014

You would need at least a Standard Edition. Just for learning you could buy the Developer Edition, it's about 60$: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/SQL-Server-2014-Developer-Edition/productID.298540400
