SQL 2012 AlwaysOn availability group on Windows Server 2012

Hi,

I'm trying to install an AlwaysOn availability group for SQL 2012 on Windows Server 2012 and when configuring the SQL Server Properties in SQL Server Configuration Manager\SQL Server Services i receive the following error:

The AlwaysOn Availability Groups feature requires the x86(non-WOW) or x64 Enterprise Edition of SQL Server 2012 (or later version) running on Windows Server 2008 (or later version) with WSFC hotfix KB 2494036 installed. This SQL Server edition and/or Windows Server System does not meet one or more of the requirements

Now these hotfix's all apply to Server 2008 R2 and below, i can't find any documentation on hotfixes that would be required for Server 2012, does any else have any experience of installing SQL 2012 on Server 2012 with alwayson availability groups?

Thanks.

I hope this helps you achieve your objective. =)

Edit: In retrospect I guess thats not very helpful... I would assume that the hotfix is not necessary with the newer release. Its too new to say just yet but I'll try it tonight. =)

That's my assumption too as the hotfix cannot be applied due to the OS version.

This HOTFIX is only req for Win 2008 & 2008R2 (any service pack), its used to modify the default voting for a cluster.

You cant mix 32 bit SQL & 64 bit windows installations, AOAG will not work on WOW. In order to continue oth your SQL & Win should be either 32 or 64 bit.
