SQL 2008 R2 Cluster with 2 Reporting Services instances?
I have a SQL 2008 R2 cluster setup currently. I have to put SCOM and SCCM on the same database and found out that the Reporting Server for SCOM takes over and can't allow more stuff on it. So I would like to have SCCM use the default instance of the reporting services and then was curious if I could create a 2nd instance of just reporting services on a Clustered server. Does anyone know if that's supported and if there are any issues?

Hi, You can install multiple instance of SSRS on the same computer. Installing multiple instances is useful if you want to host different content for specific applications like SCOM, SharePoint, CRM etc.. I have native and integrated instances on the same SQL Clusters... Reference: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143736.aspx, -IvanIvan Sanders My LinkedIn Profile, My Blog, @iasanders.

Ivan, Do you know if having multiple SSRS instances on a sql cluster is supported by Microsoft? We are considering doing this, but will not if this is not supported. Thanks. John
