SP 2003 - Issues List
Hoping someone can help! I am using a SharePoint Issues list in SharePoint 2003. When I create a new item in the All Issues view the issue is automatically given a number and a separate line. If edit that item the item only is updated – a new line is not created. When however I create a custom view or use something like “My Issues” and edit an item in that, a new issue ID seems to be generated and it is shown on a separate line as if I have created a new issue rather than just changed an existing one. If however I go into the All Issues view all appears as normal – no separate line and the new Issue ID is not showing BUT, that issue ID number that was generated in “My Issues” view is not reused and thus the list of issues in All Issues is out of sequence. It also has an impact in trying to gather statistics. Any idea why this is happening? Is there a way that one Issue ID can be assigned to just one issue no mater what view it is being looked at?
