I tried to upgrade SPS 2003 to MOSS in gradual upgrade mode. The upgrade process went through without errors and no error logged in upgrade.log either. but when I open my upgraded site in MOSS, I got the following error, Cannot complete this action. Please try again. Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services. There is no error in event log. But I found the error logged in SharePoint log file. UserProfileGradualUpgradeChangeJob: There was an error while updating the side-by-side profile database; Will retry update on next attempt Anyone has idea about this error? Thanks, Peter

I found error in SharePoint log file as follows when i open the sites upgraded from SPS 2003 A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe This error happened on all my upgraded MOSS sites. Even for a upgraded very basic empty SPS 2003 team site. What web part can cause this problem? Thanks, Peter

just open the page using adding "?contents=1" at the end. i mean default.aspx?contents=1 and it will show all the webpart in it. remove the webpart one by one and check which webpart is creating a problem.Aniket
