SPManagedAccount with an Domain User (No AD)
Hi,
I have a lokal SP setup on an Win 2008 Server system connected with a Samba Domain and my search function has a little problem.
Local users can search and can find strings with no problems. Domain users can search strings but it find nothing..
I have tried to set a domain user as managed account to use it in spsearchv4 service but it doesn't work..
Here is the output:
$cred = Get-Credential -Credential Domain\UserX
New-SPManagedAccount -Credential $cred
New-SPManagedAccount : Der angegebene Wert wird für den {0}-Parameter nicht unt
erstützt.
Bei Zeile:1 Zeichen:21
+ New-SPManagedAccount <<<<
+ CategoryInfo : InvalidData: (Microsoft.Share...wManagedAccount:
SPCmdletNewManagedAccount) [New-SPManagedAccount], ArgumentException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell.SPCmdletNewManag
edAccount
Sorry for the error output, its a german system.
In short, the value for {0}-Parameter is not supported.
I think, the variable has no value (or wrong) for New-SPManagedAccount.
Here is a blog with exactly the same problem http://mattstratton.com/tech-tips/configuring-sharepoint-2010-search-in-a-one-way-trust-scenario but it doesn't worked for me.
Has anyone ideas?

The blog with "exactly the same problem " is by the look of it a blog on using SPS 2010.
Are you using SPS 2010 ?SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links):
http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx
WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx
Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters

Ok, the word "exactly" was a little bit to much i think $-}
Its Sharepoint Foundation 2010 on my site. But the problem is the same.
Local users can search, domain users not... I think an domain user with local rights can solve the problem but i cant add it as managed account in SP.
Or has anyone other ideas?
regards
chris
