SP2013 Presence Indicator from Mac (Mavericks 10.9) Clients Not Working?

Folks,

Is Presence in SP2013 still tied to Active X? We cannot get presence to work in SP2013, while it works fine from Outlook 2011.

Any info provided is greatly appreciated.

Hi Tony,

It would be more clear if we know how SharePoint Presence works:

SharePoint presence status is displayed through a client-side setting by using a dynamic link library called name.dll.

The name.dll file is an ActiveX control which gets loaded within the Internet Explorer that calls the Lync \ Office Communicator API directly to request and display presence status within SharePoint site collections.

As administrator, if you need to confirm whether presence indicator works for your site, please test the issue on IE 10 32-bit.
