SMS Site Component Manager Failed to Create the SMS Server Component
I'm running System Center Configuration Manager 2007. The backend is a SQL Server 2005 cluster. My server is trying to reinstall the SQL Backup Component on the R: Drive on the SQL Server. The R: Drive is used for the cluster log file. It attempts the installation every hour. How can I tell System Center Configuration Manager 2007 to install the component on the C: Drive. I found the registry key that controls where the component is installed. Is it simple as changing the path in the registry?

Hi, One way of controlling that is to create a file called NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS on the R: drive. This file will prevent ConfigMgr. from installing related services on that specific drive.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products
