SMS_MP_Control_Manager says WebDAV isn't configured, but it is
Of my 8 secondary site servers, I have two reporting this same problem. The SMS_MP_Control_Manager is constantly reporting both 1016 and 4970 errors. 4970 states: The WebDAV server extension is either not installed or not configured properly. Solution: Make sure WebDAV is installed and enabled. Make sure there is an authoring rule that allow "All users" read access to "All content". Make sure the WebDAV settings "Allow anonymous property queries" and "Allow property queries with infinite depth" are set to "true" and "Allow Custom Properties" is set to false. I have verified that WebDAV is enabled and configured with all of the above settings (I also set Allow Hidden Files to be Listed to TRUE). I've even rebooted by site server, but I'm still plagued with these error messages. For what it's worth, both of these servers are running Windows 2008 R2.

Please check: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc431377.aspx and configure the IIS properly as the MS article. Regards, Madan

This happens when you configure WebDAV on the IIS and not only on the default website. The workaround is described here - http://blog.coretech.dk/confmgr07/site-systems/webdav-fails-on-windows-server-2008-r2/Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/ | The Danish community for System Center products

Madan, I had originally followed (or at least thought I followed) the instructions in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc431377.aspx , but was still having this problem. Kent, I think you hit nail right on the head, before I saw your post, I uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled and configured WebDAV on one of my two problem servers. That seems to have fixed my problem. I'm working on the second one now, but uninstalling/reinstalling sounded easier than manually reconfiguring (plus I had some Microsoft updates to install), so I uninstalled/resinstalled on the second server too. Both of these servers are working. Now I can move on to the next site on my list.

Kent, I have been struggling with this issue for some time and have seen this workaround on several other sites but it still is not working for me. I cannot get this error cleared out and it has become a major point of frustration for me as the senior admin offers no help. Please let me know if you need any logs to assist in troubleshooting this error.

Had to uninstall webdav, edit the file then reinstall webdav to get the error cleared.
