SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER and SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER Site System Errors
Hi all, I have searched high and low and found many solutions but none that have worked me or made sense. My setup is SCCM 2007 SP1 on Server 08. I am getting the following messages, and I believe they are related. WarningSMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER5447 MP has rejected a policy request from GUID because it was not approved. The operating system reported error 2147942405: Access is denied. I am receiving these over and over for different GUIDs. However, agents are shown to be installed. Also, WarningSMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER2703 SMS Inventory Data Loader failed to process the delta MIF file "XHQMRHHL7.MIF" and has moved it to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\auth\dataldr.box\BADMIFS\mwmssad3.MIF." Possible cause: The file attempted to update inventory information in the SMS site database that does not already exist, or the file contains invalid syntax. Solution: The client inventory needs to be resynchronized, which will be done automatically. Look for the status messages 2714 and 2715, which indicate the resynchronization has begun. These are not quite as frequent, but nonetheless I'm trying to get rid of these errors before continuing with software deployments. Thanks, Jeff

Problem 1 you just need to approve your clients. I do not fully understand the auto approval process, Wally has tried to explainit to me before and I still don't get why some clients don't auto approve even though I have told them to, some clients don't even have the option to be approved. Also not only is there NO way to approve more than one at a time I also have to click the client, click approve, wait a couple seconds, hit F5 then go to the next one. If I do not hit F5 on each of them they do not change to approved, even if I do several and hit F5 only the last one changes. Second problem you have, if you find a fix pelase tell me, I have had that problem for 3+ years and can't find anyone that knows why.

I don't have any ideas. I have been struggling with similar issues. I can tell you that you can do a SQL query and match the GUID in the error log to a machine name so you can track them down easier.

Do you have to reboot the SCCM server once you make this change?

No, you do not need to reboot the server after you make the changes. However, you can go ahead and restart the SMS executive service and check if the error are gone. ~Rajsekhar
