SMS_DP$ Temp files

One of our DPs which is storage constrained has multiple *.temp files in the D:\SMS_DP$ folder. They appear to be failed content transfers, and are consuming a third of the drive. Can these file just be deleted?

Also, I know about the PowerShell script which fixes DP inconsistencies due to WMI entries but 1) I am not sure if this will fix that and 2) I am looking for a quick fix to free up the storage primarily.

yes you can remove them. I never run the script you are talking about but people seem to say it remove those.

Hi,

Moreover, the NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS file prevents SCCM using a particular drive on the server, When SCCM see this file, it will never use that drive as a content location. If the content files are already present on the drive before placing the NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS file on the drive, the content files are not moved.
