SMP - Restoring data to a client in diffrent secondary site?
Have a question regarding the SMP role. Is it possible to run scanstate on a computer in one secondary site (to the local SMP there) and restore it (Computer Association) to a Computer in a diffrent secondary site? I´m trying to get this to work but with no luck! If im running scanstate/loadstate within the same site the two computers involved in the migration seem to work well, but when i run loadstate (from the install TS) on the computer when in a diffrent sec site boundary it seem to look at the local SMP there and dossent find any data! Is this by design by MS, how am I to go throug with this type on migrations?Richard1980

I believe that is correct because the SMP data does not replicate down the hieracrhy. You need to do this at the local site. Optionally you could manually restore the data from the remote SMP with the Easy Transfer Wizard or possibly script it to look at your remote smp.Brandon Linton |http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/brandonlinton/default.aspx | MCTS - SCCM, MDT, AD
