SCSM 2012 Web Portal Installation problem DB Connection

Hi,

I have been trying to install the SSP Web portal in our environment.

The Sharepoint including SQL installs no problem as they are on the same box.

When going through the motions in the SCSM installation setup, once it gets to the stage needing to connect to the Service Manager DB, it gives me access denied.

The user we are using to install the system is a local Admin, has been added to the Admin Role in SCSM and has full Sysadmin rights on the SQL box. In the install logs there is no info as to what is happening. On the SQL logs we see the acess denied on the Service Manager DB.

Has anyone had this problem before?
Could it be that the Service Manager has been patched, and for this reason the SSP Install has a problem connecting to the DB?

Thanks, Peter

Hi,

Please confirm that the account has public and security admin roles in SQL and dbo access to the Service Manager data warehouses and Service Manager database.

Also check firewall, SQL network protocols, SQL remote connection enabled.

Hi,

have tried all of that, the user we installing with has Sysadmin rights, has been added to the SCSM Admin role, is also a member of the Admin Group.

There is no firewall between the systems, and the windows firewall is off, SQL Remote connections are correct.

In the SQL eventlogs, we see that the user has been denied access.

SQL 2012 SP2 is on both systems, could there be a patch missing?

Thanks Peter
