SCOM can't reach agent when servers are still up
My System Center Agent will go down without any reason but the server is still up. I've tried to repair it but it always fail. The only solution is to uninstall the agent and push out the new agent to the server. Is there any troubershooting step I can take
on the server end to check what actaully went wrong?Desmond Tan http://sgwindowsgroup.org/blogs/desmond/

Hi
Kevin Holman has a good discussion here:

Otherwise, as dktoa says, if you can take a look at the OperationsManager event log on the agent and on its primary management server and post back any errors to this thread.
Cheers

Hi,
Please try to use the HSLockdown method to check the issue:
The Health Service does not process configuration files, and events 7022 and 1220 are logged every 30 minutes on a domain controller on which you installed the Operations Manager 2007 agent

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Are these servers in the same domain as your SCOM infrastructure ?
Which method did you use to deploy agents ?
Did you configure agent's action account other than Localsystem ?

Are you using your account as Management Server Action Account ONLY, or for the SDK-Config services as well?

The cause of this problem is due to my account password expired and I change my password. The agent then did not get the new password as I uses my account as RunAs account when deploying the agent. I can update my new password on SCOM but now I wish
to create an account for Agent to use as RunAs. This account will not have password expiry and hence the problem won't happen again.
The question now is other than redeploying agent, can I change the RunAs account for agent from SCOM?
p.s: sorry for the lack of reply. There were some problem with my network and I'm busy solving them.Desmond Tan http://sgwindowsgroup.org/blogs/desmond/
