SCOM and DPM
Hello, I am using DPM for most of our servers backups. I noticed under Monitoring > Discovered Inventory most of the servers will appear twice !!! State MM Name Path Display Name Healthy CHSEPC1 dpm1.ad CHSEPC1 Healthy CHSEPC1 CHSEPC1 Why do I have two lines? When passing the server dpm1 in Maintenance Mode all the line (e.g.:Healthy CHSEPC1 dpm1.ad CHSEPC1) are passing in Maintenance Mode for all servers Not Monitored x CHSEPC1 dpm1.ad CHSEPC1 As this is happening for all servers backed up by DPM so a lot of MM... So I wonder if the server CHSEPC1 remains completly monitored...!! Thanks, Dom System Center Operations Manager 2007 / System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 Support

A path that is blank usually means that the RMS is managing an instance of the type that your duplicated lines represent. This may or may not indicate a problem. Since both instance are showing they are in MM, it may mean you are getting what you want - hard to say since I can't make out what you mean by "when passing the server DPM1" - passing it to what?Microsoft Corporation

Hello Dan, When I "Start Maintenance Mode" on DPM1 or MBDPM1 all lines with the path dpm1.ad and/or mbdpm1.ad are automatically set to Maintenance Mode as well. So my question is do I loose any alerts coming from these lines(servers which are identified on this line)?
