SCOM Subscriptions: How to filter the Descriptions
Hi I want to setup a subscription which sends a mail when certain cluster resources going offline (not all cluster resources) Alert examples in Monitoring Tab: The Cluster Service failed to bring the Resource Group "1 PPP Cluster x64" completely online or offline. The Cluster Service failed to bring the Resource Group "2 PPP Prod DB" completely online or offline. The Cluster Service failed to bring the Resource Group "3 PPP Prod APPS" completely online or offline. I already configured a subscription but the description filter does not work: Notify on all alerts where raised by any instance in a _COMPANY Cluster Servers group and created by Resource Group Failed rules or monitors (e.g., sources) and with New (0) resolution state and with '%"1 PPP Cluster x64"%' OR '%"2 PPP Prod DB"%' OR '%"3 PPP Prod APPS"%' text in the description How should I set the filter? Thanks a lot & regards Marc

Hi, I would like to verify if the notification is send. Which Criteria does not work? To troubleshoot this issue, I would like to share the following information: E-mail notification messages are not sent when you use the "With specific text in description" option in Operations Manager 2007 R2 or in Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978359/ SCOM R2 "with specific text in the description" not working: http://www.systemcentercentral.com/tabid/60/indexId/56042/tag/Forums/Default.aspx#vindex57839 Notification subcription criteria: http://ctp.social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/operationsmanagergeneral/thread/db87c144-e2f2-44eb-b7f1-95d6b6064454 Hope it helps. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, thank you for the information. It's the issue described in http://www.systemcentercentral.com/tabid/60/indexId/56042/tag/Forums/Default.aspx#vindex57839 I hope there is another way to fix because it's a production system with many subscriptions. The Export/change/import procedure is a workaround, but not for every day use. Is a new rollup pack on the way? Best regards Marc
