SCOM Severity Override
Hey guys.. I am fairly new to SCOM and am trying to change the severity on a few alerts from "Warning" to "Critical". The override looks OK, but it doesn't look like anything is actually changed (monitor properties still show "Warning") and
the "Overrides Summary"shows Error for the "Changed Value". What am I missing?
Thanks!

Hi
The monitor properties will always show the defaults - you need to go to the override summary to view changes to the default. For severities, you need to set numerical values:
0 = informational
1 = warning
2 = critical
Remember not to save overrides to the default management pack:

most likely you can only change the severity for the alert! So the monitor could go in warning state, but the alert that the statechange triggers can be critical.Rob Korving

Thanks.. so as long as the overrides for the all object class shows Critical or 2 I should be good right?

If you are asking if you can "think like an object oriented programmer and override someting at a highly abstract base class level and have it take effect globally?", the answer is, no, that won't work.
