SCOM Gateway Server issue
Hi
By accidentally the RMS and gateway server placed in MM mode in our environment. I have renamed the health service state folder on these servers and restarted the health service. The RMS and MS and one of the gateway server didn’t had any issues and
working properly
But one of my gateway server had an issue. After renaming the health service state folder I have restarted the health service and gateway server trying to connect the old RMS server which decommissioned two years ago. And all the agents pointing to this
server failed. Then I have stopped the health service and renamed the old State folder and started the health service then its working fine. I don’t know how it is working but it’s working.
I need your help to permanently fix this issue. How we can point the gateway server to the current RMS server.

Hi,
Check the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Server Management Groups\<MGName>\Parent Health Services\0

Hi Alexey
I have checked the registery HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Server Management Groups\<MGName>\Parent Health Services\0 and AuthenticationName and NetworkName shows old RMS server. Is this something I have to
change?
Another query. We are using this gateway server from more than 2 years and rebooted many times upgraded the SCOM SP1 to R2 and didn't had any issues. Your suggestion will help us to do the RCA on this issue.

>Is this something I have to change?
Yes, that's the keys you need to change.

Neither reboot nor upgrade doesn't delete a config file (in the health service state folder).

Hi Donald,
Try change the name in registry to the correct RMS server name and restart services. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
