SCOM Discovery Wizard Never Completes
Hello Everyone, i know this issue has been faced by many administrators and many threads are out there but unfortunately my problem is still there after checking/testing everything.
we were using SCOM 2007 SP1, everything was working fine then we migrated SCOM 2007 SP1 to SCOM 2007 R2 everything went well except the discovery wizard was not working at that time, after a bit of investigation and troubleshooting i came to know that SQL
Broker Service was disabled, so i just enabled it for OperationsManager DB and discovery wizard just worked. everything was working fine till last week, we discovered network devices, unix servers and added many windows systems as well.
last week, all of the sudden discovery wizard again stopped working, it keeps running and never finishes, i checked SQL Broker Service is enabled, account permissions are OK, Computer and Domain Account SPNs are OK, there is no firewall between scom servers
and the clients which we are trying to discover, all related services are running, also tried clean boot up of SCOM Servers and OperationsManager DB Owner is valid.
seems everything is OK, there is no specific event in the event log but still discovery wizard doesn't work!! is there any other reason for it? am i missing something? is there any other log or anything which will be helpful in troubleshooting
and find out the actual cause.
please advice.
Regards

Hey Mym
Can you tell me if your RMS is clustered?
Next is there any GPO that is enabling or dissabling services?
How many other MS do you have
Can you confirm that the other MS's have all SCOM services except the health service set to disabled?

Dear Paul,
Thank you very much for the response, much appreciated, but i have resolved the problem by clearing the Health Service Store and restarting the service solved my problem.
meanwhile we have one RMS and one MS/ACS/Reporting server (Two SCOM Servers), there is no GPO configured for SCOM servers which enable/disable any service and all the services are disabled on second node except health service.
Regards
MYM.
