SCOM Create Alert activity at SCO does not change SCOM connection server

Hello,

I configured my SCOM environment new and added a SCOM Management server which should receive the events from SCO with the create alert activity from SCOM integration pack.

So I added a new connection and changed the create alert activity to this but the event is always generated with the old server name as source. The old was my RMS simulator. Or is the RMS always the source for the generated alert?

Hi,

if "Create Alert" is used for first time the MP "Microsoft.SystemCenter.Orchestrator.Integration.Library" with the Rule "Microsoft.SystemCenter.Orchestrator.Integration.Library.AlertOnEventForComputer" is installed automatically in SCOM.

It seems the Rule target "RMS Emulator" cannot be changed.

Create Alert needs the MP "Microsoft.SystemCenter.Orchestrator.Integration.Library" which is independent from the "Microsoft System Center Monitoring Pack for System Center 2012 Orchestrator" which enables Monitoring for Orchestrator from SCOM.

Frohe Ostern! :-)

Stefan

Looks the same at my system. Override is not possible from the console. Maybe by changing the xml? Does anybody know if this is possible?

I want to have the RMS Emulator free from this events.

Hi,

The MP is sealed and an override for the Rule Target ist not available.

Can you explain why it's important to see other SCOM Management Server in the Alert not the RMS Emulator?

Perhaps changing the RMS Emulator is an option? http://www.systemcentercentral.com/opsmgr-2012-managing-the-rms-emulator-role-in-powershell-and-why-you-might-want-to/
