SCOM Console Tasks Timeout
Hi everyone, I have created scripts created that will place systems into maintenance mode in SCOM. I've attached these scripts as Console tasks (which will run on the RMS). Although the task itself is configured with a timeout of 600 seconds, the task "fails" after 5 minutes (due to a timeout issue). Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a way to increase the timeout to the full 600 seconds when using the standard console (or web console) for SCOM tasks? Thanks for your help!

Hi, You could try to export the MP that task is in and edit some elements in XML: Look for the task part and check if there's a Timeout attribute and a TimeoutSeconds element inside the Task element. Just modify the Timeout value as you expect and try to see how it works. Alex Zhao TechNet Community Support

Hi Alex, That's it! I manually edited the MP and there is another value for the task itself, which is not visible from the GUI. I've changed this to 600 seconds and now there are no issues with the tasks timing out. Thanks for your help!
