SCOM Alert View Syntax Question
In an active alerts view, I want to exclude. The following is my Properties for this view: View all alerts of a Critical Severity and with Not Equals 255 resolution state and with a Name != 'Test Rule 1' name. However, the Name criteria is not working properly. With the entry in place, the view is blank. Any ideas? Thank you. MB

Delete Test Rule 1? Alerts really don't have a name property however, so that might be an issue. Microsoft Corporation

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that will not do. An alternative solution would be to have the alert directed to a custom view and not be included in other views. Is that possible? I do not understand how Alerts do not have a name property. In a custom view, you can view alerts with a specific name. Doesn't that indicate that alerts do have a name property? Thanks again. I did find the answer to one of my questions. The proper way to exclude the rule from the view is answered properly here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/operationsmanagerauthoring/thread/2adca001-59cd-44a5-b03b-0cbfb1c54f0c/ In my case the last line is: and with a [^(Test Rule 1)] name I have tested and it works.
