SCOM 2012 monitor AIX
Before using SCOM, customer use command to collect RUNQ (running job number) and number of user session I didnt see SCOM collect these 2 items as default monitoring item after import AIX mp. Is there any way to configure SCOM so that it could collect RUNQ and user session?

With System Center 2012 OpsMgr, it's super easy to do what your customer wants. In the "Authoring" section of the OpsMgr console, it's easy to create monitors and rules based on shell command lines. So you could have a shell command line that invokes the RUNQ command, perhaps filters the output, and records the result as a performance value. See this blog post for details on how to do this: http://operatingquadrant.com/2012/01/30/opsmgr-2012-unixlinux-authoring-templates-shell-command/. There's also a follow-up post that has additional technical details. With OpsMgr 2007 R2, you can also invoke shell command line, but you have to do management pack authoring to set it up -- we don't have the wizards in the OpsMgr console that make it super easy.Michael Kelley, Lead Program Manager, System Center Cross Platform
