SCOM 2012 configuration

Hi All,

I need an advice

I have SCOM 2012 running in xyz.com, since there is a requirement to have separate another SCOM instance i am creating a sub domain say xyz.abc.com and can i have a SCOM 2012 infra created isolated from xyz.com

Will there be any challenge running two separate SCOM instance in same forest. Please

Hi

I wouldn't create a separate domain just for SCOM. You can have as many management groups as you want in one domain. Why is there a need for another SCOM instance? E.g.

Is it scalability? Do you have tens of thousands of servers to manage?

Is it to separate out administrator rights? There is only one SCOM Administrator group per Management Group. If you need more granular options, you're looking at separate management groups but along with that comes additional administration overhead e.g. you are now maintaining 2 SCOM environments.

no, there's no limitation on how many SCOM management groups you can create in a single domain / forest.
