Hi Anas, if you are installing SCOM 2012 in a lab environment then all the component can be installed on a single server even. However, for production it really based on your infrastructure, how many servers are going to be monitored, what all services, app, db etc would get monitored etc. In proudction you can have SCOM MS on one server and DB, DW & Reporting installed on another server provided your environment is not that large. If you have more servers (considering future prospect as well) to manage then split SCOM DB on a seprate server. Mgmt console and web console would get installed on a MS. Scom console can be installed seprately on more machines, if required. Hope this helps, Varun

Hi, It depends on what and how much you are going to monitor. Start with one SQL server and one Management server. But start with Kevin's guide: http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2012/04/26/deploying-opsmgr-2012-a-quick-start-guide.aspx Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
