SCOM 2012 - Auto generation of incidents for the SCOM Alerts into SCSM (Service Manager)

Hi

We have SCOM 2012 SP1 and SCSM integrated with SCOM. When we manually create the incidents (e.g. IR21234), it shows in SCOM Console under Alerts, if you select "Ticket-ID" to view.

We would like SCOM alerts should generate tickets automatically in SCSM without manual creation.

Please advise how to setup auto generation of tickets in SCSM.

You might want to create alert routing rules within SCSM before you configure the connector:

Graham/Natalya,

I thought we had integration done on SCOM with SCSM. But it seems not. Can you guys please let me know, how to find out whether SCSM Connetor is setup in SCOM and SCOM connector setup in SCSM. Please provide steps, how to setup the SCSM connector in SCOM & SCOM Connector in SCSM.

This would definitely give me more help.

You'll see this in SCOM under Administration, Connectors. This is where you configure the criteria for passing alerts to SCSM

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the quick links. I have got "How to setup the SCOM Connector in SCSM", but could not find the link for "How to setup the SCSM connector in SCOM". Can you please provide the link for this?

You create the connector in SCSM - it "automatically" appears in SCOM after that.

From SCOM you then configure it like any subscription. You set the criteria for forwarding SCOM alerts to SCSM. You'll see this in the Administration Tab in the SCOM console under connectors.
