SCOM 2007 R2 special linux performance monitor
Hi We made several 2 state linux montiroing, but we need to create some special monitoring as well. A single counterbased perf monitring is easy to make for any linux, like, file count, IOWait..., but the most problematic if the monitored object are variable on the linux machines. Example i would like to monitor the inodes per mountpoint. There are different mount points on different servers. So i need a similar to the standard linux volume freespace monitoring, but i would like to colelct the inode numbers. do you have any idea how i can create such monitor for SCOM 2007 R2 CU5? As i see we need to create a discovery object for it. but i have no idea how. I not applied, just checking in the authoring console - created a discovery - discovery class is Logical Disk (linux) - Discovered relationships Disk Partition Contains Logical Disk Configuration? i have no idea Regards

Custom cross-platform monitoring is much more challenging in OpsMgr 2007 R2 than it is in OpsMgr 2012, where you now have Shell Command unit monitor wizards. If you want to go down the road of authoring custom cross-platform monitoring on OpsMgr 2007 R2, you might check Kris blog, which has a few tutorials on the topic.
